Onitama is a Abstract Strategy game, much like chess or checkers. Each player commands a group of Skilled martial artists and a Guru that must outwit the other team for dojo supremacy. Players win by moving their Guru to the enemy pagoda or destroying all the opponents characters. Each player is given two pre-selected move cards, a fifth card is placed to the side of the board. Players use one of their given cards to move a character. After moving a character that player discards their move card and takes the displayed fifth card. Each player must use the five game cards to take on their enemy and win, by the way of the stone, or the way of the stream.
